Plan Management is a financial management option for NDIS participants that allows them to manage their plan's budget and pay providers. Support Coordination, on the other hand, is a service that helps participants to implement and coordinate their plan's supports and services.
You can find a Plan Manager by searching the NDIS Provider Finder or asking for recommendations from our support team. When choosing a Plan Manager, you should look for someone with experience, good communication skills, and a clear understanding of NDIS policies and processes.
The process for claiming invoices and paying providers through your Plan Manager will depend on the specific Plan Management service you choose. Generally, you will need to submit invoices and receipts to your Plan Manager, who will then process the payment on your behalf.
If you run out of funding in your NDIS plan, you can request additional funding by submitting a plan review request. Your NDIS Planner will then review your plan and decide about whether to provide additional funding.
Support Coordination is a service that helps NDIS participants to navigate the disability support system, connect with service providers, and implement their plan's supports and services. It differs from Plan Management, which focuses on financial management.
You can find a Support Coordinator by asking for recommendations from our NDIS Planner. When choosing a Support Coordinator, you should look for someone who is experienced, knowledgeable, and can work collaboratively with you to achieve your goals.
The role of a Support Coordinator is to help you understand your NDIS plan, connect with our service providers, and coordinate your support and services. We can also provide you with information and advice about the NDIS and help you to resolve any issues or concerns you may have.
The frequency of meetings with your Support Coordinator will depend on your needs and goals. Typically, you will meet with your Support Coordinator at least once every three months, but more frequent meetings may be required if you are going through a significant life transition or experiencing a change in your support needs. During these meetings, you can expect to discuss your progress towards your goals and any challenges or concerns you may have.
